Instructions for Presenters
This page describes the presentation format, talk-length requirements, and hybrid setup.
Workshop Program
The workshop program is available here.
The sessions and talk categories have been assigned. We will publish the exact presentation times and Zoom link once they are finalized.
Talk Length
Each paper has been assigned one of the following presentation formats:
- Short talk: 5 minutes, followed by approximately 3 minutes of Q&A
- Long talk: up to 12 minutes, followed by approximately 3 minutes of Q&A
A long talk does not need to use the full 12 minutes. We encourage speakers to give a shorter, focused, and high-quality presentation rather than stretching the content to fill the entire 12-minute slot. For example, an 8–10-minute talk is entirely appropriate.
Workshop attendees are expected to be familiar with database consistency. Please minimize general background material, such as explanations of isolation levels, and focus on the paper’s main ideas, results, and discussion points.
Hybrid Presentation Format
SCCP’26 will use a hybrid format.
- The primary physical venue will be the VLDB workshop room in Boston.
- All speakers, including speakers attending in person, will present through Zoom.
- All Q&A will take place through Zoom.
- The audience in the Boston workshop room will join the Zoom session as a group.
- Remote participants will join the same Zoom session individually.
Speakers attending in person should bring their presentation laptop and join the workshop Zoom session as well. Their laptop will share slides through Zoom, while the microphone and camera will be provided by the room. Additional technical instructions will be provided before the workshop.
Backup Recording (remote speakers only)
Each remote speaker must record their presentation in advance and send the recording to the program chairs before the workshop.
The recording will serve only as a backup. We will play it if the speaker cannot present live because of an unavailable or unstable network connection.
The backup recording should:
- Follow the assigned talk-length limit.
- Include the complete presentation.
- Use a common video format, such as MP4.
- Have clear audio and readable slides.
- Be accessible through a downloadable link, such as YouTube, Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive.
The speaker should still attend the session live and participate in the Q&A, even if the backup recording must be used.
Before the Workshop
Before the workshop, each speaker should:
- Submit the SCCP’26 speaker information form.
- Prepare a presentation that follows the assigned time limit.
- Record and submit a backup presentation. (remote speakers only)
- Test Zoom, screen sharing, audio, and video.
- Confirm access to the final Zoom link.
- Join the Zoom session before the assigned session begins.
